We have been able to figure out when Selena has an ear infection since she was born. After having an ear infection a month for the first year of her life we finally decided to have tubes put in her ears. For the most part the tubs have worked very well. I think she has had only three ear infections since she got them in October.
Selena has had a cold for about a week, no biggie just a little cough and runny nose. Yesterday she woke up with snot coming out of her eyes like she has before, usually a sign of the tubes working. Last night in such a clear little 19 month old voice she said "Ear hurt!" and stuck her pointer finger in her left ear. And then "Eye hurt!" and rubbed her right eye. Wow, this is great now she can tell us when she has an ear infection instead of us just guessing.
The trick to make an ear infection feel better is to blow hot air into the ear and Joe demonstrates in the picture.
