Boy oh boy!
Well by now you all know that we had a BOY!
How the months fly by with three kids!
Wade Fisher Alonzo was born 12/5/11.
After no sleep that night due to excitement and just being uncomfortable; the alarm went off a 4:30am just like it would for work but this time it was for yet another life changing event. I had spent most of the night thinking about being a family of four, how fast times goes... it seems like I just went in to have Natalia. I got up to pee three times and watched an episode of the Kardashians, really just mind numbing TV trying to fall asleep for at least a few hours.
The house was quite at 4:30am except for Joe opening his drawers to find a t-shirt, the girls were asleep in their beds and Joe's mom was asleep downstairs. I turned off my alarm and continued laying on the couch, which had been my bed for the last three months. I didn't want to hurry this day knowing it was the last time I would be pregnant. I took a quick shower trying to wake up since I could not have anything to drink and this would be the first day since the day Natalia was born that I didn't have coffee.

After taking a picture of my giant belly we were ready to head out, kissing the girls real fast as not to wake them and telling Grandma Pumpkin Pie that we would see her later. She wished us luck and we were off. I seriously hardy remember the drive to Bellevue. It was 45 min that has slipped my mind. I don't remember anything accept arriving at the hospital and checking in. Were were taking into my room and filled out a bunch of paperwork, hooked up to machines and just told to wait for an hour until it was time to go into the the operating room.
Joe put on the scrubs and started speaking in that odd accent that is his "Dr." accent. We were all laughing at him and it was a good distraction while getting my spinal. Before long I could not feel from my chest down. An oxygen mask was put on me, sheets went up so I could not see my lower body and my arms were strapped to boards to the sides of my body. I could tell that they started cutting because I could feel a "popping" sensation in my mid section which my Dr. said was normal. Very strange though because I don't remember it with my other two. The lights above me were bright and I tried to just breath and relax but I could feel myself becoming more and more scared/nervous/overwhelmed. I know the next few moments went pretty fast but I was in slow motion. My Dr. was talking to the nurses about a move she had seen over the weekend as I could see my full insides now out of my body in the mirror above me. I was trying to look everywhere but at the mirror but the reflection of red blood all over was etched in my mind when I would close my eyes. I looked at Joe to my left, at the machines to my right, closed my eyes so I would not see the reflection in the mirror...
Finally I heard a small cry and knew that the baby was part way out. The baby was out from the head to the belly so no one knew the gender yet as the nurse sucked all the goo out of the baby's noise. I remember closing my eyes tight and repeating "please be a boy, please be a boy, please be a boy." Like the power of my mind could change the gender if it was a girl? I and then I hear Joe say in a choked up voice "Jessica it's a boy, it's a boy!" Oh I totally lost it, tear ran down my face. I was so happy to be able to use the name Wade. It's the boy name that we had both liked since before we knew Selena was going to be a girl.
I think my eyes were closed for at lease 5 min while they cleaned him up, weighed and measured him. I knew he was a big and when I opened my eyes he was all head and belly. He had cute chunky stubby legs and a giant perfectly bald round head. Oh, I was in love. I knew he was going to be such a mommy's boy.
After they tied my tubes and sewed me up I was taken into recovery and passed out. I was so tired from no sleep and the excitement that I was done and needed to rest. Joe took on baby duty as people came in and out for the next few hours until I was wheeled into the room that we would be in for the next few days.

I just sat in bed staring at baby Wade in my arms thinking he is the biggest of the three kids yet looks incredibly tiny! And then I though, "I am starving!" Of course they would not feed my a full meal until the next day but I did get some yummy broth soup and pudding cup. So I would read the menu planning my meals and thinking about eating food.

Selena, Natalia and Grandma Pumpkin Pie showed up with cute outfits for baby Wade and presents for me. My mom sent flowers and we called/texted everyone we needed to. Of course thanks to Facebook we got the word out pretty quick to all out extended family and friends.

Natalia and Selena took turns holding and fighting over baby Wade. Selena would be so gentle and talk to him and Natalia just wanted to poke him in the eye like any 2 1/2 year old. Friends stopped by to hold him, it was a constant stream of Dr.'s and nurses that first 24 hours and then Joe and I were left on our own to bond before bring this calm baby into the craziness that is our house.

It was nice to just focus on one kid at a time so thank you Grandma Pumpkin Pie for staying with the girls!
I'm back to posting so I will be posting updated pictures and the latest with the Alonzo 5!

Last day of work
Can't believe it's already here! I was so happy this morning waking up for the last time to an alarm at 4:30am. A baby alarm will be in the near future but I have a few days to relax at home and get ready for the craziness to come.
Tomorrow are parent/teacher conferences for Selena's school and then Friday Joe and I get to go to the assembly for Selena winning Student of the Month. We are so excited for Joe's mom to come up Friday as she will be watching the girls for the week. Joe has his work holiday party on Friday night so we will steal some time together without the kiddos and then Saturday I think we may go out to a movie. FUN TIMES AHEAD! I had my last Dr visit and ultrasound on Monday. My blood pressure was higher than normal for me so they had a few concerns and hooked me up to the non-stress test. Baby was not moving much and heart was not getting high enough when it did move so they sent me for an ultrasound. Baby looked great, about 8lbs they think. I know it could be off a lb or so but this baby just feels pretty big so 8lbs sounds about right. They are thinking 8lbs 5oz or so by the big day. Selena was 7 lbs 13oz and 10 days late and Natalia was 6 lbs 4oz and 6 days early so already I know this is the biggest baby.
Natalia calls the baby Pam because she has a doll named Pam. I just hope it doesn't break her heart when we don't actually name the baby Pam. She tells everyone that it's a girl named Pam. Pam by the way, it totally not even on the list...
I think Selena is about ready. Time seems to drag by when you are 5 and really don't have much concept for weeks/months. Now that it's less than a week away it's easier for her to understand.
Both girls will be at the hospital Monday to meet their new sibling as we decided to pull Selena out of school for the day. And with a gift for each of them from the baby I'm sure they will welcome him/her to the family. Each girl also picked up a gift for the baby thanks to Joe. What a great dad he is!
So for now I'm signing off until after the birth. I'll post on Facebook as soon as anything exciting happens so most likely Monday afternoon. C-section is at 7:30am Monday. I'm accepting donations of vodka and Starbucks...
3 kids, what were we thinking!
Thanksgiving, yummy!

Last time as a family of 4!

Belly pictures 37 weeks

With just two weeks left I'm feeling pretty big but very hungry all the time also. I want to eat all the time and sometimes I am able to eat a big meal but not always.
Selena also received a huge honor at her school:

We are so proud of her and can't wait to see her receive her award on December 2nd. She is such a sweet and helpful kid and this doesn't surprise me and I'm so happy for her. She if always offering to help me carry stuff in from my car after work and even makes her bed and my bed on the weekends. She is always sharing with Natalia and goes out of her way to rub Joe's back after a long day. What a sweet girl she is!

2 Weeks
I can't believe it is only two weeks from today and I'll be in the hospital. By this time we will know if it's a boy or girl and will have named him/her. Two weeks seems like no time at all and with only 6 days left of work the countdown begins. To say that I'm 100% at work when I'm at work would be a lie. I have a case of short timers now that all but one or two major projects need to be completed.
I'm also not sleeping well still. Still sleeping on the couch and waking up 4 times a night to pee and change positions. So I'm getting a good 4-5 hours a night if I'm lucky. I'm just happy this is a short week!
Now for some Tally Bug pictures!

What are we having?
Feel free to vote right under the blog title, click on the boy or girl circle.
I actually have no clue either way but with the names done, room done and baby boy and girl clothing 0-3 months washed and ready I feel like we are getting closer. In fact 3 weeks from today is the day. Getting excited and at the same time wishing I had more time.
