Hand, foot and mouth disease?

Selena was sick all last week, Joe went to work for only two days and of course I was out of town for work. After a grumpy Selena weekend we thought that there must be something wrong. Ears? Teeth? Cold? Who knows, this kid is always sick! So on Thursday, Joe took her in to find out she had Hand, foot and mouth disease. Not to be confused with Hoof and mouth disease or mad cow or any of the other animal diseases.
Hand, foot, and mouth disease (HFMD) is a common illness of infants and children especially in a daycare setting. It is characterized by fever, sores in the mouth, and a rash with blisters. HFMD begins with a mild fever, poor appetite and a sore throat. One or 2 days after the fever begins, painful sores develop in the mouth. They begin as small red spots that blister and then often become ulcers. So you know why we thought it could be teething pain, because she would not eat and when she tried she would cry. They are usually located on the tongue, gums, and inside of the cheeks. The skin rash develops over 1 to 2 days with flat or raised red spots, some with blisters. ALL over her little bottom, the rash does not itch, and it is usually located on the palms of the hands and soles of the feet. There is nothing to do but let it run it's course for 7 days. She was all better for the weekend except for her spotted bottom.
We went to Whistler to get a ride in before the Mt closed down for the season. Whistler was cold and rainy and even snowed Saturday night. We went with another couple and their baby Avery, Joe and I met them at birthing class a few weeks before Selena and Avery were born. Selena and Avery had a wonderful time playing and get along great, it was a tight fit in the truck with four adults and two kids on a six hour drive but we made it work.

I can't believe you don't do your own grocery shopping. SLOW DOWN
little missy. Don't get caught up
in the 2000's please. I shop at farmer's market's all spring, summer, and fall and very
rarely shop at the store, if I can
help it. You don't know how lucky
you are to be able to get fresh fish whenever you want it!
Your a DOUGHMAN for heaven's sake.
Get back in the real game chick.
Come on Joe, straighten her out!!
Don't make me come out there!!!
All three of you look great.
Can't wait until you come out here soon.
Love ya loads!
