Where does the time go?!

Christmas #2
The holiday weekend started out at the Smith's house for dinner, dessert, presents and play time. They are always coming to our house so it was nice to spend an evening at theirs. Our family Christmas was really nice and low key this year. My dad came up on the 24th and made sourdough pizza, one of my favorite meals as a kid. Joe and I had fun playing Santa for the first time and I think I was more excited than Selena was. Christmas Eve after church we looked at lights and then went home to get ready for Santa. We turned on the computer and tracked Santa on Norad, when we saw he was already in the United States we knew it was time to hurry and go to sleep but not before opening a few presents. She opened the one from grandpa, it's a Rody, like a blow up house like animal that you sit and bounce on. We told her to sit on it, hold the ears and bounce. She did just that but yanked the horse out from under her and fell flat on her back. She jumped up so fast, I think she was stunned but said, "I'm okay." And then jumped on it again only to go flying into the wall and bust a wall socket switch plate. That girl has a hard head. She finally got the hang of it and when it was time to go to bed took it with her. Tally opened her present from grandpa, a super soft bunny that she likes to laugh at and talk to. Selena put out carrots, cookies and eggnog and went to bed very excited about finally getting a T-rex. Selena was up by 6am ready to see what Santa brought her. She wanted to check the carrots and then checked on the cookies. When she saw Santa left a few crumbs she said it was because he wanted her to have them. So breakfast started out with cookies. She loved her T-rex but she said that she thought it was going to be a big one not a baby one. So I told her she needed to be more specific next year. Because we never intended for Santa to bring Tally anything since she it to young we really needed to just put something out for Selena to see that her sister had been "good." She has been saying that Tally is "bad" because she cries. So we put out a ball popper toy that my mom picked up for Tally before she was born. Selena never saw it and it was just being stored and worked out perfect. Although Natalia had a lot of interest in it, Selena kept playing with it and offered to give her sister her t-rex is she could have the ball popper. We opened the rest of the presents and stockings, had breakfast, went on a walk, dad made prime rib and the weekend took a turn. I came down with the flu. Fever, chills, tired, headache, body aches you name it. Joe was left to take care of everything around the house for the last few days while I moved from couch to couch to bed.
Christmas #3
Uncle Dave(Joe's bro) cam up on Dec 30 to celebrate the New Year with us. We were thinking of going into Seattle but settled on Red Robin and staying up at home. I had the best intentions of staying up until midnight but we were all in bed by 10pm. Alonzo's showed up at our door on the 1st and we had the last of the 3 Christmases. Joe, Deb, Dave, Auntie Diane and Uncle Mike spoiled the kiddos and us. Selena loves her remote control car, Cars jammies and Montania Bike shirt. Tally is enjoying her new warm clothing, jumper and she will be enjouing her new sleeping bag for camping this summer. After the presents were opened Joe and I were ready to get the house back in order. We packed up Christmas and took out the tree, it felt great to get everything back to normal. Selena was very concerned about the tree making it to heaven since it was laying "dead" on the back lawn. She wanted to know how it got up to heaven so I told her that is grows wings and flys there. Well she kept checking the back lawn to see if it grew wings. About the 11th time checking it, it was gone. Joe moved it out by the trash and Selena said, "The tree grew wings and flew away to heaven! Mom look it's gone." Super silly girl.
Tally came down with her 4th and 5th ear infection over the last three weeks. She is on track to get tubes like Selena but we may be getting them sooner than Selena. Selena was 1 yr but Natalia can get them at 6 months at the earliest.
Joe and I went out on a date, while grandma pumpkin pie, grandpa pookee and dirty Dave watched the girls. We went out to Wingers and to the casino.
Just like that the last three weeks of holiday festivities were over and the new year began.
